Is it me or my polygamy style skirts?

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!
This week was amazing. We had interviews with President Perry this tuesday and he told me how impressed he was with me. It felt really awesome to hear that I must be doing something right. He asked if I get hit on a lot in my area... hahahh. To answer that, sadly we do. The outer Banks is CRAZY!! it is so crowded now! Tourists EVERYWHERE. the roads are blocked with traffic, everyone we meet is here for the week only, and at church this sunday we had 800 ish people come, we had to meet in the Middle school instead of our building because we couldnt fit everyone! There was a singles group here that meets every memorial weekend. I am not supposed to call it a singles conference because a lot of sketchy things go down during this weekend apparently. The members said last year there was a reality tv crew following them around and it was titled "mormons gone wild." so yeah... this place is the East Coast Las Vegas. I love it though!  Im just going to start with the miracle, I can't wait until the end! So, like I said on Sunday there was a million  people here. An elder that used to serve in this area was here, visiting from DC. He came up to us and was like ," Sisters, there is a nonmember here. I gave him a book of mormon and he is sitting with us. Make sure you catch him after the meeting. He's in a purple polo!" Best moment of my life. Turns out P (the guys name) was playing soccer and he decided to come into the middle school to see which church was meeting. He told us he was planning on going to church on Sundays so might as well come to this one. We hunted him down after the meeting and set up a return appointment. I was on cloud nine the whole day. Talk about people being placed in our path by Heavenly Father!!
We also got to meet with some less actives, and found 5 new investigators this week. So that was fun! We are at the point where we need to drop a lot of them people they aren't keeping commitments. This is the hardest thing for me to do. To stop meeting with someone because they aren't willing to keep commitments. It absolutley breaks my heart. Gladly enough, there are people we meet who do accept the gospel, and that joy is greater than the sorrow and anguish felt when they do not. Kinda like Alma 36. I am obsessed with this chapter. The way Alma talks about repentance and forgiveness.... oh my goodness. We read this with our investigator, KB on Friday and we saw the spirit touch her soul. She opened up to us about horrible things that had happened to her in her past, and how she has a hard time trusting God. there is nothing better than testifying of what you hold so dear to your heart to someone you have grown to love, and feeling the spirit together. The church is so true. And I am so grateful for it.
Some down news... we taught P today. He told us how he is baptist and we spent an hour teaching him and trying to explain to him the need for proper authority. It just didn't click with him. He ended up coming to lunch with a member, only after trying to go out to lunch with us. When we were done and saying goodbye, he asked us if we can "hang out and not talk about mormon things..." no. Its hard to see if he really desires to know the truth of our message of if he's just looking for some girls to "hang out with... " We won't be meeting with him again unless it is at a members home. I dont know what it is this week but we have gotten followed by men on bikes, gotten kisses blown to us, call me, things thrown at us. It must be my polygamy style skirts.
Aside from the extremly awkward flirty men, everything is amazing. the work is progressing and we have an investigator set for baptism on July 17!!! WOOOOOOO!!!!! Transfer calls are also this Sunday. Who knows what will happen! I really pray I don't leave. The work is FINALLY picking up and so many people are so close to baptism!!
Love you all. Summer, you are so cute. Your hair cut looks cute. and Chandler, when did you get handsome? My companions said you look like a model and they have a crush on you. yolo

the Mormons are here, everybody hide (Week 17?)

Hello all!!
Another week has gone by so fast! Its crazy. I had such an awesome week that truly was led by the spirit.
We got in contact with Mr. A.  So... remember how he "couldn't come to church because he was in the hospital?" Well it was real.  He opened the door and had black eyes and this weird band aid on his ear. He is deaf in one ear for now and was involved in a car accident. Talk about Satan trying to get him not to come to church! He is resting but all is well! :) My companions and I were laughing so hard because we were comparing ourselves to creepy ex girlfriends trying to figure out why A wasn't talking to us.
Annnnyways, haha we had an awesome experience with our new investigator, Miss T. We knocked on her door and she told us she had a minute and was interested in our message of how families can be together forever! As missionaries it is our privileged to immediately testify of the restoration, our unique message to the world. But as soon as we sat down I felt strongly prompted to teach the plan of salvation. We went for it, not knowing why, and Miss T opened up to us about her mom's death and how it greatly affects everything she does, and how she is so afraid of death. It was a really crazy experience! the church is SO true!!!!
We also have been meeting with two less active members, Sister S and Sister B. Sister B has been coming to church a ton, but her sister, Sister S is still struggling with the word of wisdom and in believing that she can be forgiven of her sins. We taught them the plan of salvation. As we were talking about the celestial kingdom, she told us how she wants to live with her son again, who passed away when he was a child.  She said she knows that he will be in the celestial kingdom, and even though she won't be there, knowing that he will be happy is good enough for her. The spirit took over that lesson, and we told her that the atonement of Jesus Christ is available to anyone. We just have to do our part. Tears filled the room as we told her that everyone is eligible for the celestial kingdom, and the way to get there is through faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost and enduring to the end. Oh my goodness family, the spirit was SO strong. We could feel her testimony of this wonderful plan of happiness strengthen. She told us she knew this was true, and this is exactly the push she needed to start working towards that goal. It was such an amazing lesson.
Sadly after that lesson, all of the 5 appointments we had set up back to back bailed on us. No body would answer the door. I swear someone in the neighborhood saw us and must have sent out a group text saying the Mormons are here everybody hide! Sister H actually saw one kid in the window  jump off the couch and hide on the floor!
Miss D, a woman we met last week who is super solid cancelled our appointment this week because her dog died and it has really brought her into a depression. We are keeping her in our prayers and will hopefully be able to teach her this week, if she decides she is ready to see people again. :(
We found a new investigator named  T this week, who asked us to come back so we can teach his wife and son! so stoked!! There are so many people here who are searching for truth. It's all about letting the spirit guide us where we need to be, and talking to everyone!! Mom, remember how we would be in the store and I would need help with something and I would be to afraid to talk to the employee? Let's just say I have changed a lot from what kind of person I used to be! On Saturday we were walking back to the car in the church parking lot and saw this girl sitting on the cub of the church parking lot, using the WiFi. We walked over to her and told her who we were and she got super excited and said she had heard a lot about Mormons and wanted to know from the source! So we plopped right there next to her and had a lesson with KB in the parking lot! The first thing she asked us was if it was true that we believe we get our own planets.... hahaha we taught her the plan of salvation, the book of Mormon, the law of Chasity, revelation through prayer, the holy ghost, and church attendance. It was the craziest, funnest lesson ever. She told us she is truly seeking truth, and she has a lot of questions about God and feels this desire to grow closer to him and Jesus Christ. GOLDEN!!!! It was so amazing!!! We had a prayer with her at the end and she wanted all of us to pray, so we sat in a circle and each said a prayer. It was a super cool experience!
We also went to a born again christian dinner party. It was interesting. hahaha
I love you all so much. Grandad Guess, I got your birthday card! Thank you so much for your continued support. I love you!
Thank you everyone for your prayers and support. Missionary work is tough, but knowing that my family back home loves me keeps me going.
Chandler... you are such a stud. You looked so handsome at prom. I seriously started crying when I saw pictures of you guys! You are so grown up! (serious.fake.)
Love you all!! have an amazing week!!!

Testimony of Fasting and Prayer! Week 16

Hello Fam!!
Man it was such a blessing to be able to see your beautiful faces yesterday! We were at a recent converts house and she said she saw a very different side of Sister Snow! Hahaha, but really I am so grateful that I got to talk to the people who mean the most to me in my life. Luckily after we skyped we had a lot to do to keep my mind busy. Don't worry about me, all is well!
This week was definitely miracle week. Never in my life have I seen so many miracles!! After many weeks pleading with Heavenly Father, fasting, and working hard to keep our "line in the water" and being exactly obedient, we saw results. We had some elders come to our area to cover more ground tracting, and we found 42 potential investigators! So cool. We have a lot of work to be doing this week! On Wednesday the Sister Training leaders came up and we went on exchanges. Sister W, Sister M and I went to an island called Wanchese and spent our day tracting. We found 5 new investigators and were in tears by the end of the day. We went from having a dead area to a beautifully alive area in just a couple of hours!! We have some very solid investigators, especially Miss D. Fam, I told you about her yesterday! She really has a deep love for Jesus Christ and when we were teaching her on her porch, as I asked her to read the last paragraph in the Book of Mormon, she stopped halfway through the reading and told us she feels the Holy Ghost. YESSS!!!! My jaw just dropped and I couldn't contain my smile. I probably freaked her out because Sister Wasked her what that meant if she felt the holy ghost, and she replied, then this book must come from God and I blurted out "IT IS!" with a creepy smile on and tears in my eyes.... I get wayyyy too excited. So that was one of the best moments of my entire life right there. We also met a man named Mr. H who looked similar to Jesus... long brown hair and a beard. He told us he is a messianic Jew and he went off about his theories of the American Indians and how they descended from the people of Jerusalem.... So of course we told him about the Book of Mormon! He is excited to learn more :) Sadly he is a "no-mad" and will be moving next month...but hey, that's enough time to be baptized! Wow it is amazing how people are truly prepared for this gospel. THE CHURCH IS SO TRUE! Every second of the day my testimony is strengthened. This gospel brings so much peace, comfort and happiness into our lives. People are SEARCHING for answers. And we have them. How great is our calling?!??!!  I am so blessed to be a missionary in this time. Heavenly Father really does answer our prayers. He wants what is best for us, and He knows what is best for us! All we have to do is be patient and humble. That is when the blessings will come.
Speaking of being patient.. We were so excited yesterday because A was coming to church. We had called him Saturday night, told him we had a ride set up, and he kept telling us on and on about how excited he was to come to church. So naturally, we were expecting him! We see Brother S show up with out A and he told us that his mom said A was in the hospital.... I have heard a lot of different excuses to not come to church, but this was the first time I have heard the hospital! So, I am choosing to be trusting and believe that he really is in the hospital. I am super worried about him! His phone is off and everything.
Please keep A in your prayers. And Thank you so much everyone for the birthday cards and wishes. I can not express to y'all how much it meant to me to hear from my friends and family. This may sound cheesy, but there is no better way to celebrate a birthday than by helping others to come unto Christ :) The weather was perfect on my birthday and I saw so many tender mercies, and sweet reminders of family and friends. God knew how to keep me cheerful on my birthday, and I am so grateful for the tender mercies this week. LOVE YOU ALL!!!! its so funny to no longer be classified as one of the  "19 year old sisters" :)
Keep being the amazing examples you are. I love you all.

Weed and Read Week 15

Hello family!!
Another amazing week has flown by!
We focused so much on less active members by doing SERVICE. Oh man... it was so much fun. We weeded, mowed lawns, and climbed trees to rip of ivy branches off. I have such a strong testimony of service! It makes you so HAPPY to be able to serve God's children. There really is nothing better than helping somebody out. Dad, I was thinking about you all week as I was weeding. I remembered that one time in San Elijo when we started the garden on the side of our house and how much fun it was. And hey, since I study so much in the morning, I was doing a lot of the famous WEED and READ. Its like I'm home again or at Grandma's summer camp!
We had a lot of ups and downs this week as we worked our hardest to find people prepared for the gospel. We were pretty unsuccessful. We really had our patience and our faith tested as we worked our hardest every single day. On Saturday during our 5 hour designated tracting time, we stopped and had a breakdown. We kept saying "What are we doing wrong? What else do we need to be doing??" nothing happened. We decided we should go contact some potentials down the street, and as soon as we pulled onto the road I felt the spirit super strong. I thought I was going crazy, but I told my companions we are supposed to be here. Of course nothing happened, until we pulled up to  the second to last house, and then we met A. He opened the door and let us right in! We taught him right there and he's coming to church next week! MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!!! After a week of being in an area that we classified as "Dead." It was the most joy I have felt in a long time being able to have an investigator again. Oh man. I'm getting teary eyed just talking about this. Being a missionary is so hard sometimes. WE rely on the Lord with everything, but sometimes we have to remind ourselves that people have agency. Rejection will happen, but so does acceptance! We can not know the bitter without the sweet.
Mother: for mothers day,we are going to be at the members house at 130 my time. I can either skype at 230 or 330. which is best for y'all?
LOVE YOU!!
Have an amazing week!
Love,
Sister Snow
